I’m Chanda Jones, a passionate photographer driven by curiosity, creativity, and the power of storytelling. My journey into photography began unexpectedly in a Photography 101 class at Penn State University, where I was studying Psychology. What started as a hobby quickly became my life’s calling, and now, 15 years later, I embrace photography as a career and my true purpose.
With a degree in Business Administration and over 20 years of experience managing successful barbershops, I bring a unique fusion of business acumen, artistic vision, and deep insight into human connection to every project. My transition to professional photography was cemented in my first semester of photography school, culminating in the unforgettable moment when my first image was published in a newspaper. From that moment on, I knew I was meant to tell stories through my lens.
For the past decade, I’ve had the honor of serving as the Lead Team Photographer for the Philadelphia Phillies, capturing moments that transcend the game and resonate with audiences far beyond the stadium. My experience also includes working as a police photographer for the Philadelphia Police Department, documenting historic events within the department. My passion lies in event photography—freezing moments in time that tell compelling stories and leave lasting impressions.
Beyond the lens, I am deeply committed to education and mentorship. I proudly serve on the Photo Advisory Committee at the Community College of Philadelphia and have shared my knowledge with aspiring photographers through Photography Without Borders. Additionally, I’ve been honored to participate in the Philadelphia Phillies #CollegeSeries Women in Sports Night, sharing insights about my career and inspiring the next generation of creatives.
My work has been featured in the Philadelphia Daily News and the Philadelphia Inquirer, and in 2013, I was awarded the PhilaFilm Festival Documentary Award for my project on the history of the Philadelphia Black Fire Fighters Association, Valiants Inc.
At the core of my work is a passion for capturing the essence of people, places, and moments that define our world. Whether through photography, documentary filmmaking, or speaking engagements, my mission is to create impactful, emotionally resonant images that inspire, educate, and connect.
As I expand my services to include photography workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and motivational speaking, I’m excited about the future—continuing to tell powerful stories, uplift my community, and inspire the next wave of visual storytellers.
